Client interviewing consists of two team members who interview a potential client in order to gain an understanding of their legal situation and offer some possible preliminary solutions for future action, all while maintaining a professional relationship. The competition requires teams to demonstrate a great ability of interpersonal communication to successfully identify and obtain all relevant information from their client and to work well within a team dynamic.

Similar to our negotiation competitions, teams are offered time at the conclusion of the interview to first self-reflect on their performance, and then confer back with the judge for feedback.
